Welcome

Antje [un-t-yuh] Hofmeister offers scientifically-informed talk therapy for adults, teens, and families with international, multicultural, and non-traditional backgrounds in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a history of helping clients deal with emotional, psychological, and behavioral difficulties and build resilience and strong relationships in the process. Antje is experienced with diversity issues, including those faced by members of the LGBTQ community.

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT43710), certified psychoanalyst, and former research scientist, Antje has talk therapy down to a science. She specializes in working with successful professionals who are adept at solving problems using their outstanding critical and analytical thinking skills. Nevertheless, unforeseen life challenges leave them at a loss. Relationship difficulties, alienation, divorce, separation, major illness, depression, anxiety and panic, compulsive behaviors, complex trauma, and post-traumatic stress are some of the reasons these professionals find their way to her office.

Antje works collaboratively while offering new perspectives, supporting greater flexibility, and facilitating productive outcomes. Her clients often comment that they find her approach particularly constructive, eye-opening, and tailored to their needs.

Antje is equally fluent in English and German. Bilingual adults , international and multicultural families may feel free to conduct talk therapy in either one or both languages, depending on their preference.
